At Chez Nico at Ninety Park Lane Kjartan (K) met his peer Paul
Rhodes, famous for his strict leadership and his culinary skills.
After working at Chez Nico, Kjartan returned to Norway to open Brovingen
Mat og Vin in Haugesund. Paul was invited to stage at Brovingen, after
which the two chefs became close friends and later partners in Paul&K.
The company logo is a result of Paul's inability to pronounce Kjartan's
name.
Paul would call Brovingen asking for KeyJartan KeyJetland. Of course
no one had a clue who or what he requested.
Kjartan Kjetland became KK, abbreviated to K.
Paul & K was launched in England on May 28, 2002, and then in
Norway the following October. |
